This impressive performance marks his second consecutive triple-double performance as well as being league leader for points, rebounds and assists combined.
Jokic has been nothing short of dominant this season and appears poised to repeat as champion. The Serbian center has been an essential factor in his team’s success and proves that he can dominate at every position on the floor. His unique playing style sets him apart from other great centers who have graced NBA courts over time; unlike most big men who focus on low post and rebounding play, he prefers passing as opposed to rebounding and low post play.
As the season has progressed, his performance has only become better and better, and now averages 24 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists per game – his best numbers ever! On track for another All-Star selection this season.
The Nuggets are in for a tough matchup against the Brooklyn Nets, but have been playing well recently. The Nets have been winning games recently to stay competitive for playoff positioning; with plenty of young talent and veteran leadership working harmoniously together. If they can keep this momentum up they could take home first place in the East division.
Jamal Murray
On Saturday, December 24th, the Denver Nuggets and Brooklyn Nets will play each other. Both teams are still fighting for playoff position; however, if Denver were to win this game they would take an early advantage in that hunt. Currently they are 6-2 against Brooklyn so far this season with five victories out of their six meetings so far.
Jamal Murray has been with the Denver Nuggets in the NBA for eight seasons and averages 17.6 points, 4.6 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game; winning an NBA Championship along the way.
As an all-around player, he has been an instrumental factor in the team’s success this season. His shooting has improved tremendously from three-point range and now averages 22.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game this year.
Though they lost to the Warriors, the Nuggets remain fifth place in the Western Conference and still in playoff contention. Their recent home game against Atlanta Hawks proved thrilling, featuring incredible individual performances by veterans such as Nikola Jokic and emerging talents like Jamal Murray; ultimately ending in a narrow 139-120 win for Denver.
Murray played a significant role in Denver’s success during the first half, yet struggled in the second. While he could find his way into the paint and score points there, his three-pointers largely failed him.
The Nuggets defense continued to struggle and allowed the Nets to lead by seventeen at one point; however, they managed to close that deficit down to just ten before halftime.
The Nuggets will be without Jamal Murray (ankle), who was officially ruled out for Monday’s matchup against Phoenix. They’ll turn instead to Russell Westbrook as his replacement, giving him an opportunity to demonstrate that he can still be an effective leader for Denver without Murray present.
DaRon Holmes II
As a big man, Holmes provides solid floor and ceiling production. He excels at screening in pick-and-roll and has great touch around the rim; additionally he boasts an effective shooting stroke from deep. However, lacking an in-between game impedes his full potential as an all-around performer.
On defense, Holmes is a capable rebounder and post player. However, there are some weakness which will need to be addressed: for instance he often turns over the ball due to poor decision-making or reckless drives which result in charges being assessed or poorly timed and spaced passes which will become an issue as he transitions into NBA play.
Further issues lie in his poor defensive footwork. He tends to lunge and lurch on closeouts, leaving himself vulnerable against isolation players. Furthermore, his shot-blocking is insufficient for NBA play.
Even with his weaknesses, Holmes shows great promise as an effective backup center in the NBA. A skilled scorer capable of knocking off bench big men and creating advantages for his team, Holmes will make an impactful difference this season either as a starter or solid backup.

Holmes was selected 22nd overall by the Suns in the 2024 NBA Draft before being traded to Denver where he is expected to compete for a role in their front court.

PJ Hall
PJ Hall is an exceptional big man who excels at doing everything a team needs him to. From setting picks and scoring inside the arc, to knocking down contested threes at an impressive rate. In addition, he boasts an effective midrange game as well as being strong enough to finish through contact and use his strength effectively for finishing through contact. On defense, his defensive instincts are second-to-none while he’s never afraid to help at the basket.
He’s a reliable cutter who can create opportunities for his teammates in the low post. He possesses great touch around the basket, hitting fallaway jumpers at the end of each shot clock. Additionally, he’s not afraid to bang on offensive glass for easy putbacks.
Hall’s greatest strength as a player lies in his post game. Utilizing both strength and size effectively, he utilizes the backboard to get himself into position for strong putbacks or hooks off of putbacks or hooks off of backboards. Furthermore, Hall excels at finishing both hands simultaneously to stay off balance when defenses attempt to trap him.
Hall possesses an easy, effortless, and consistent post game which positions him to become an aggressive scorer at the next level. He is highly efficient in transition and even shows some finesse while driving the ball at times. In addition, Hall can make intriguing passes off-dribble which provide him with additional weapons in his arsenal.
Hall has made an excellent start in Denver. After signing a two-way contract on Thursday and showing some early promise, he may prove invaluable as an addition to Denver’s bench player pool this season.
