Mayank Yadav
Mayank Yadav is one of the most promising young fast bowlers in India and is seen as the next big thing in cricket.
Boasting great pace, as well as being capable of swinging both ways with his ball, Mayank stands out among his peers.
However, with such speed comes great physical strain – therefore managing his workload effectively in order to remain fit is of utmost importance for his long-term wellbeing.
Mumbai Indians remain one of the most successful teams in IPL history despite last season’s disappointing performances, and will look to regroup under their new captain and with an improved roster in 2025.
They boast an excellent head-to-head record against Lucknow Super Giants who will attempt to turn around their fortunes this season.
LSG have retained many of their best players from last season and are considered one of the more underrated teams in the IPL.
With an experienced group that includes both batsmen and bowlers, this young squad will look to improve upon last year’s performances.
Both sides have met six times already this season – each side winning three matches while drawing one.
The first match was an exciting thriller that ended in a tie. MI was dominant during their second matchup and won decisively.
LSG were tight competitors but eventually prevailed by one goal in their final contest.
Mayank Yadav made an excellent first impression during his IPL debut, bowling an impressive spell and taking wickets in both innings.
He demonstrated exceptional control of run-up while using his speed to knock out top batters with bouncers. Furthermore, slow deliveries proved effective at tying up batsmen and forcing them into defensive play.
Youngster Rashid Khan boasts a calculated and pacy run-up, gathering pace as he moves through the field.
As an excellent bowler in powerplay innings and his ability to hit stumps with every delivery makes him an effective player – something which will be hugely advantageous to his team in this year’s Indian Premier League tournament and beyond. Already showing his true potential!
Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav of Mumbai Indians recently reached 4,000 runs in IPL history – the highest total ever for any batsman in IPL history!
Additionally, the 31-year-old has also been the top scorer for his team over the past three seasons and also made waves internationally; scoring sixes off his T20I debut and quickly establishing himself as one of its premier batting forces.
Yadav, known for his run scoring abilities with Mumbai Indians, has played a vital role in India’s T20I successes.
He currently ranks number one on the ICC T20I rankings for batsmen and was twice honored with ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year awards (in 2022 and 2023), amongst many other accolades during his career.
SKY was born in Hathouda village of Ghazipur district, Uttar Pradesh and spent his early years there. His father Ashok Kumar Yadav worked at Bhabha Atomic Research Center before his family relocated to Mumbai around 10 years later – though his love of cricket remained undiminished and at Ashok Kumar Yadav’s recommendation he joined Elf Vengsarkar Academy to train under this former cricketer.
Following his impressive domestic performances, SKY was given the responsibility of leading Mumbai in a Ranji Trophy match and led his side to victory, becoming youngest captain ever of Mumbai Cricket Team.
Additionally, in 2024 he was selected for India’s T20 World Cup squad where he made an immediate impression – scoring half-century on debut and earning Player of the Match award!
Yadav has been an invaluable member of Mumbai Indians over the last two seasons and his batting has shown great maturity.
One of modern cricket’s most reliable batsmen, Yadav has consistently delivered big scores under pressure; becoming the first Indian ever to reach 4,000 runs in IPL play while being named best batsman on several occasions.
Ryan Rickelton
Ryan Rickelton was born in Johannesburg, South Africa to a sports-minded family. His father encouraged him to become a wicketkeeper because it offered longevity and versatility in professional cricket; Penny competed as a squash player – creating an environment in which Ryan developed both strong work ethic and discipline.
At present he lives a fairly private lifestyle; however he can often be seen sharing pictures from his cricket adventures via social media channels like Facebook.
Ryan has only played occasionally for the Proteas, yet has already established himself in red ball cricket with franchise cricket and red-ball domestic matches. Yet his performances in these arenas has put him high up on the list for consideration for national selection.
Ryan made an impactful contribution for Northamptonshire County Championship team, being named as its leading run scorer and making several game-winning knocks for them. Furthermore, he made an excellent start in T20I career of Proteas by scoring two centuries in first few games of T20I series.
He will now return home for the 2025 Champions Trophy, where he will play a pivotal role in South African batting lineup. Additionally, Johan Botha brings much-needed balance to their side.
Ryan has shown remarkable consistency in both ODI and T20I cricket, possessing a clear strategy and understanding how best to play any innings given him. Furthermore, he’s adept in the field with a powerful throw.
Ryan has taken to emulating Rassie van der Dussen, whom he credits as his source of inspiration, when it comes to his batting style and athleticism in the field. Ryan can hit long balls far, being an all-round player with an exceptional work ethic.
Julian Wood has also had a substantial influence on Ryan. As an expert coach who specializes in helping players hit boundaries, Julian has worked with some power hitters such as Sam Billings and Carlos Brathwaite – believing that strong technique is key for any batter’s success.
Will Jacks
Mumbai have come roaring back since losing three consecutive matches and now look like they may be unbeatable. Their win also saw them overturn LSG who were leading by one going into this matchup.
Jacks has been an impressive performer for Surrey across both Twenty20 and first-class cricket since making his debut in 2015.
Since making his List A debut for them in 2018 against Gloucestershire – scoring an unbeaten 121 score against them!
Since then he has gone on to feature regularly across all formats as well as being an integral member of both their 2021 and 2022 T20 Blast campaigns.
Jacks made his England U-19 debut in 2017 and showed immense promise in the 2024 Indian Premier League season playing for Bengaluru, scoring over 200 runs across eight games including an outstanding century.
Unretained by Bengaluru after only one season with them, he signed for Mumbai Indians instead for 2025 season where his performance in this match helped deliver them victory and they now occupy second spot on points table after six victories from 10 matches and six wins overall! Jacks was assisted by Jasprit Bumrah taking four wickets while Trent Boult chipped in with three.
